Busted!

Several weeks ago we had a lice scare at our house.  Our pastor's wife called me Monday afternoon and told me Luke had been exposed to lice Sunday night at church. I immediately went into prevention mode - stripping bed linens, bagging up stuffed animals, and washing hair.

Luke's bag of stuffed animals stayed in the garage for several weeks in a garbage bag just to be sure. Rocky #1 was in that bag.  Today before church Luke asked if he could have his bag of animals.  Not thinking, I said "yes".  Fletcher came running into the office with a panicked look and said, "Hide Rocky."

At that point, Luke came around the corner and said, "There are two Rockys?"

So now he knows.

A Few Thoughts About Valentine's Day

1.  I'm glad my friend has a playroom with a chalkboard wall.

2.  Yes, I got a rather strange look from the Home Depot guy when he asked, "What do you need the PVC pipe for?"

3.  I am glad my boys are young enough to still put up with my crazy whims.  I know they will see these one day and say, "Mom?!  Seriously?!  You made me give these to my class?!"

4. Sticker placement is not important to Luke.
5.  Kevin helped me and the boys assemble these on Saturday.  I know how he really feels about Valentines Day (he thinks it is a marketing ploy for Hallmark and flower growers to make more money).  The fact that he helped tells me how much he loves me.

6.  Without Valentines like these, I wouldn't get to have conversations like this:
(Before we assembled everything)
Luke:  Mom, what are those?
Me:  These are the Valentines for your class.
Luke:  So I'm going to give those to all my pretty girls?
